It is never easy to fully understand the merits of advancement when one lives in comfort with all state-of-the-art technologies of the modern world. Many schools from developed economies see the need to educate their students of the sufferings and hardships their predecessors have endured in the past, and therefore, the easier way is to bring students to poorer countries. So is the case of Northview secondary school in Singapore, which has chosen Vietnam for a group of 26 students and four teachers to look into the development history.

The largest pagoda complex in Vietnam, Bai Dinh Pagoda, is located at Gia Sinh Commune, Gia Vien District in the northern province of Ninh Binh, 95 kilometers south of Hanoi. Even though it is still under construction, with expected date of completion in 2010 to mark the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long or Hanoi, it is still attracting a large number of pilgrims and tourists.

Three coastal provinces Baria-Vung Tau, Binh Thuan and Khanh Hoa, were taking precautions to protect tourists at seaside resorts from the impacts of tropical storm Noul, which was forecasted to batter the localities overnight.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has approved a proposal by Vietnam Airlines and the Bank for Investment and Development of Viet Nam (BIDV) to hire a foreign consultant for the planning of Cam Ranh International Airport in Khanh Hoa Province.
